Eine neue Version des Sega Genesis/32X/CD Emulators Gens32 ist erschienen.


A new version of the Sega Genesis/32X/CD emulator Gens32 has been released.

Ich bin dafür, dass wir keine News mehr über Gens32 posten.
1. ist Gens Lizensverletzung, dass zu keinem Release der Sourcecode veröffentlicht wird, zweitens hat dieser Emulator bis auf einen Vorteil (dass er in 32Bit Color Mode läuft) nur sinnlosverbesserungen gehabt.
Aber möcht auch mal eure Meinung hören.

Ist Gens32 nicht eine Weiterentwicklung, die auf dem Source von Gens aufbaut ?

In diesem Fall wäre ja eine Veröffentlichung ohne der Verfügbarkeit des Source-Codes ein Verstoß gegen die GPL.

Allerdings sollte es wohl anderen Leuten obliegen, eventuelle Urheberrechtsverletzungen ihrer Produkte selber zu verfolgen.

Und was die Änderungen betrifft, so kann man geteilter Meinung sein.

Nur weil minimale Änderungen / Feintuning nicht unbedingt einer neuen Versionsnummer bedürfen, so muß jeder selbst entscheiden, ob es für Ihn relevant ist oder er solche News ignoriert.

Ist zumindest meine Meinung.

Hört sich aber so beim Release von Gens 2.14 an als ob das die letzte Version vom alten klassischen Gens ist darum hatte sie den Code-Namen Souvenir und jetzt nur noch an Gens32 gearbeitet wird, außerdem wurde Gens 2.14 auch mit der Zusammenarbeit von DarkDancer Freigegeben.
