Ganz kurz und kanckig :

stellen diese Optimierungen wirklich eine
Verbesserung dar oder wird die ganze Geschichte
im Gegenteil sogar noch buggiger ?

Wenn ich daran denke, dass die Bug-Rate der Windows-builds
eh schon wesentlich höher ist als beim DOS-Pendant
(Quelle : official MAME-FAQ) traue ich dem Braten nicht
wirklich über den Weg.....

Auf der anderen Seite würde ich schon gerne
die Athlon64-optimierte Version ausprobieren.

Hat da jemand konkrete Erfahrungen gemacht ?

Das ist alles der selbe Code, er wird nur unter Aktivierung der cpu-spezifischen Kompileroptimierungen compiliert.
Die Bugs bleiben also die selben - allerdings ist der Leistungsgewinn wohl auch nicht so sonderlich hoch.
