Bei Google werden bzw. wurden (!) lediglich die Klicks auf die Suchergebnisse getrackt, jedoch keinerlei personenbezogene Daten gespeichert. Diese Strategie verfolgen auch andere Suchmaschinen. Allerdings geriet speziell Google damit in Kritik, da man die UID der Links bewusst versteckte und somit eine menge Spielraum für Spekulationen schuf.
