I've released MasterGear 4.9.2 for Android, a new version of my Sega MasterSystem, GameGear, and SG-1000 emulator. The new release targets Android 11 (SDK-30 API) and fixes a bunch of issues, including virtual gamepad on Android 12 devices and assigning gamepad buttons to keyboard keys. Several possible crashes and a security issue when unpacking .ZIP files have also been fixed. Finally, there is now support for newer AndroidTV devices. Please, note that the method to get cheats back has changed in this version. As you remember, I had to disable cheat features to avoid Google staff banning MasterGear from the store. You can easily reenable cheats though by downloading this file and CLICKING ON IT in the File Selector.

This week's free MasterGear 4.2 release for Windows and Linux is ready for you to download and try. This release fixes a bunch of bugs in the replay feature and adds the remaining replay time display. In case you do not know what the replay feature does, simply press F8 during gameplay :)

MasterGear 3.6.9, a new version of my Sega MasterSystem and GameGear emulator for Android, is now online. This release improves the Layout Editor, maps your analog gamepad triggers to L2/R2 buttons, and adds cheats for more GameGear games. See complete change list below.

I have released MasterGear 3.6 for Windows/Linux and MasterGear 3.6.2 for Android today. The new MasteGear adds color filters for simulating monochrome, sepia, green, and amber CRTs, as well as a new Scale2x scaling algorithm. The Android version uses GLES2 shaders to accelerate scaling, color filtering, and other special effects. Also, starting with this release, you can exclude your game screenshots from showing up in the Android Gallery. To do that, simply uncheck the "In Android Gallery" option in the File Selector, for every folder where your screenshots are. See below for all the changes. WINDOWS AND LINUX CHANGES:

I updated MasterGear for Windows and Linux to version 3.5. The new version changes accesses to VRAM, CRAM and VDP registers to comply with the documentation, implements 224/240-pixel GameGear video modes, and adds an automated way to detect CodeMasters cartridges. As result, many game glitches, big and small, have been fixed. The Windows version now lets you play audio while the emulator is running in the background.

I have just published MasterGear 3.5 for Android. This release completely changes VRAM access mechanism to comply with the documentation. Among other effects, this change fixes title screen garbage in Wolf Child. I have also added recognition for five more CodeMasters games and a way to automatically detect other CodeMaster cartridges. More support for custom hardware coming later.

Sowas gibts auch nicht oft: Von Wakalabis, einem brandneuen Gamegear & Master System Emulator für Windows, ist die zweite Version erschienen. Leider kann ich überhaupt nicht sagen, was denn nun neu ist, denn weder auf der "Homepage" (wenn man es denn so nennen kann) noch in der TXT, die dem Emulator beiliegt, steht das drin. So muss ich mich an einen Newsbeitrag aus Zophar's Domain halten. Laut dem gibt es in der neuen Version einige sinnvolle Features.
