Für die Pandora User unter Euch...

Ich habe ein PDF mit Pandora Console Emulator Fact Sheets für 15 Emulatoren erstellt und ins englische Forum gestellt. Hier ein kleine Vorschau...



Und das Pandora Console Emulator Pack mit allen PND Dateien und der kompletten (leeren) Verzeichnisstruktur.

Die Fact Sheets sind im Emulator Pack enthalten.

Ich bin ja echt versucht, mir eine Pandora zu kaufen. Finde das Ding schon geil, das Caanoo, weiß auch zu überzeugen Smile Naja, im Moment finde ich aber keinen Pandorahändler, der die Konsole anbietet.

Was spricht heute eigentlich für einen Pandora (sowie die anderen Emu-Handhelds) wenn man doch eigentlich das eigene Smartphone in Verbindung mit einem PS3-Controller/Wiimote dafür nutzen kann?

Eigentlich garnichts, außer wenn man auf den Retrocharme und die damit verbundenen Möglichgkeiten steht. Ich finde die Teile absolut klasse, weil ich einfach absoluter Emulatorenfan bin und das nicht, weil ich illegal Zeug zocken will, sondern weil mich die Technik und die Möglichkeiten dahinter fazinieren. Ich werde mir eh in Zukunft, eine Pandora holen, ich warte nur drauf, dass wieder da sind und der Zeitpunkt stimmt. Ich freue mich schon drauf Donkey Kong zu zocken Wink Auf der PSP macht das schon laune, nur gehen mir da die Frames zu oft in den Keller.

Die Pandora hat wahrscheinlich eine bessere Akkulaufzeit.

Ein Smartphone mit externem Controller ist m.E. ein Gefummel, ausser vielleicht mit dem iControlPad. Das ist jedoch etwas mühsam zum Konfigurieren. Dann schon lieber ein Tablet. Das iPad funktioniert mit der Wiimote (Classic) sehr gut und der Bildschirm hat auch eine vernünftige Grösse.

Allerdings holt Android in Sachen Emulation mit grossen Schritten auf. Es gibt schon eine ganze Reihe von wirklichen guten Emulatoren:

MAME4droid, MAME4droid Reloaded, Snes9x EX, FPse, N64oid, NEO.emu, PCE.emu, MD.emu, NES.emu, GBC.emu, NGP.emu, GameBoid und Gearoid

Hardware seitig finde ich das Xperia Play sehr gut und chinesische Hersteller wie Yinlips und JXD sind auch schon auf den Android Zug gesprungen. Ich habe mir mal den YDPG16 vorbestellt.

Warum jetzt also noch ne Pandora ?

Es gibt doch noch einige Gründe, die dafür sprechen...

- die besten Arcade Emulatoren, wie z.B. FBA 0.2.97.24 (entspricht der aktuellen PC Version und spielt das volle ROM Set inkl. CPS3) und PanMAME
- digitales und funktionierendes analoges Pad (bei Chinaware meist Fake)
- vollständige Tastatur (bei Homecomputer Emulatoren ein Vorteil)
- eine sehr gute Akkulaufzeit von 10 Stunden
- eine offene Linux basierende Architektur (keine App und Market Zensur oder sonstiges Hacking)

Es gibt sicherlich noch eine Menge gute Gründe, je nach Anwendungsgebiet. Das Gerät ist ja schliesslich ein Mini-Laptop.

Der Vermutstropfen ist sicherlich der Preis und die Verfügbarkeit. Ich warte nun schon seit bald 3 Jahren auf meine originale Pandora (hab mir zwischenzeitlich eine Gebrauchte besorgt). Laughing

Ich surfe schon seit einigen Tagen, zur Vorbestellerseite... Ich hätte in den letzten Tagen, nicht so viel ausgeben sollen. Aber meine Dampferhardware, musste auch auf den neuesten Stand gebracht werden, neuer Laptop musste auch her, nachdem mein Welpe, das Teil zerbissen hat... Naja, mal abwarten... Wink Ich schaue auch immer auf Ebay etc vorbei, um mal zu schauen ob einer eine gute Pandora, für einen vernünftigen Preis verkauft...

Dank Qemu läuft auf der Pandora jetzt auch Windows. Habe dafür ein Windows 3.11 Image erstellt und ein paar Spiele installiert, mehr aus nostalgischen Gründen. Cool
