Nach langer Ruhepause ohne News ist jetzt endlich die neue Version des X-Box Emulators Cxbx erschienen.
Der Emulator ist jetzt fähig Turok zu emulieren und es gibt eine neue GUI samt neuem Logo!

Nach langer Stille gibt es mal wieder News vom X-Box Emulator Xeon. Hier ein Zitat vom Autor _SF_: Good news, Xeon is now reaching in-game with Panzer Dragoon Orta. Currently it is still rendering in software mode and going very slowly, but I should be able to add a lot of optimizations in the future.

Der XBox-Emulator cxbx scheint gute Fortschritte zu machen. Auf der Homepage (und im erweiterten Text *g) könnt ihr euch einige Screenshots von einem emulierten Turok ansehen, und sogar einen Film der Emulation runterladen.
Das ganze läuft schon recht flüssig, aber immernoch mit einigen Grafikfehlern.

In einem emuforum Thread gibt es Ingame-Shots des X-Box Spiels Rayman auf cxbx zu sehen.
Sie stammen aus dem Ingame Demo und sehen echt sehr gut aus, sind aber noch mit Vorsicht zu geniessen. Noch ist nicht sicher, ob sie auch echt sind!
Update: Wie sich im Forum herausgestellt hat handelt es sich hier "lediglich" um ein XMV Movie das abgespielt wird. Es ist also keine gerenderte 3D Grafik!

Eigentlich war es nur eine Frage der Zeit, aber das es so schnell gehen würde, hätte ich nicht gedacht: Mit Xeon v1.0 ist der erste Emulator verfügbar, der zumindest ein komerzielles Spiel zum laufen bringen können soll. Naemlich HALO (NTSC Version) Ich habe keine Homepage gefunden und auch in der Readme des Download's, den VG-Network anbietet war nichts zu finden... Heimatlos? ;)

Tjo, Kawaks scheint noch nicht so ganz tot zu sein.
_Mhz_ hat eine neue Kawaks-Version rausgebracht, allerdings nicht für den PC sondern für die XBox.
Wer also auf seiner XBox immerschon mal NeoGeo, CPS1 oder CPS2 Games zocken wollte kann das jetzt endlich tun.
Was das Teil kann:
There's the following goodies waiting inside :
- CPS1, CPS2, NeoGeo support (doh)
- Plenty of nice eye candy video filters (more about that later)
- Redefinable controls (including handy macros like keys to do 3 punches, etc)
- Can save screenshots
- Savestates (8 slots per game)
- You can play NeoGeo games either in arcade mode or in console mode
- You can switch region (language settings) for every supported CPS2 game.
For example, that means you can play the normally japanese only Mighty Pang
in english if you want...
Da der Download nicht ganz so einfach zu finden ist hab ich den Emu mal hier hochgeladen.

Cxbx macht weiter Fortschritte - so wird jetzt das Intro Movie von Turok Evolution angezeigt...

This means you can play all your atari games on Cxbx, which is a great novelty.
